Interventional Radiology

About the Specialty

Interventional Neuroradiology/Neurointerventional surgery is relatively new specialty deals with minimal invasive approach to diagnose and treat various neurovascular disorders of brain and spine including stroke, cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformation, carotid stenosis and extracranial vascular malformations. Management of these diseases is often challenging and involves multidisciplinary team approach. Neurointervention specialty offers treatment using endovascular approach (minimally invasive) i.e. through vascular access, using various catheters and other materials without any open surgery.

Neurovascular diseases include:

  1. Acute stroke- Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
  2. Acute subarachnoid hemorrhage due to brain aneurysm rupture
  3. Carotid stenosis
  4. Brain arteriovenous malformation
  5. Cerebral venous thrombosis
  6. Head and neck vascular malformations
  7. Spinal arteriovenous malformations

Dedicated Infrastructure at Noble Hospital for Neurointervention Services:

  1. 1) Neurocathlab with facilities like 3D rotational angiogram and xpertCT- This enable surgeon to precisely understand the anatomy in detail and treat the condition in better way.
  2. 2) Neuroradiology Services including CT and MR angiogram for neurovascular diseases
